Mitch Moss
Mitch is originally from the small town Fall Creek, Wisconsin, where there isn’t a stop light or a fast food restaurant to be found.
He made the move to VSiN after his second stint at ESPN Radio in Las Vegas. The first stint at the Lotus Broadcasting station lasted from 2001 until late 2011. He produced, hosted and was the program director throughout this duration. He then moved to 95.7 The Game (KGMZ) in San Francisco to produce the midday, and eventually the morning show at the station. In March 2013, he made the move back to Las Vegas as midday host. He also was the play-by-play voice of the Las Vegas Locos of the now-defunct United Football League, and also called games for the Mountain West Radio Network for many years.
In his words …
“I first visited Las Vegas in the summer of 1998. The best man at my wedding was stationed at Nellis Air Force base. The visit lasted 12 days. I knew within the first couple of days during my trip that I was going to move to Las Vegas. It didn’t matter if I had a job or not, I was going to move here.”
“I first recall being around gambling when I was an extremely young kid. Everybody had these tickets with two numbers on them around bowl time. I was also in elementary or middle school when my older brother was running the March Madness pool contest. I thought it was great because his high school principal was involved!”
“The best gambling experience of my life was winning the 2006 Last Man Standing along with my colleague, Doug Marsh. It was a Texas Station-only football contest back then. The following year it blew up and was at every Station Casino in the city. Marsh and I split a little more than $17,600. When it blew up, the prize pool increased to more than $80,000.”
“My wife and I live with our two dogs, Dexter and Mickey. My family still lives in Wisconsin.”
“Aside from sports, I like to watch an array of TV shows. My favorite shows of all time are Breaking Bad, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld, and Dexter.”
