Pauly Howard

Pauly Howard worked in radio for 18 years after getting his start at KFAN in Minneapolis. A native of St. Cloud, Minn., he graduated from St. Cloud State. He moved to Las Vegas in 2000 after landing a job at Sports Fan Radio Network with JT The Brick, Chad Andrus, Brandon Tierney and others. Things took off from there. He moved to ESPN Las Vegas to do afternoon drive with Mitch Moss, and the station would go on to become the No. 3-rated sports station in the nation at the time. Howard shifted to Fox Sports Las Vegas and soon began doing national work for Fox Sports Radio in over 250 markets.

Howard and Moss are reunited on VSiN, co-hosting “Follow the Money” from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. ET weekdays.

Howard’s odds and ends …
Favorite movies:
The Godfather and The Godfather Part II, Reservoir Dogs, The Big Short, Shawshank Redemption
Favorite actress: Rosamund Pike
Favorite TV show: Game of Thrones
Favorite bands: Metallica and Led Zeppelin

The sports broadcasters I most admire are Brent Musburger and Howard Cosell. I got into the business because of Cosell and Musburger. Cosell hated the jockocracy and former players getting the top jobs with no experience, and I loved his view on that.

My favorite team is whoever I bet on.

The best athlete I’ve seen play in person is Randy Moss, the most gifted wide receiver ever.

My worst betting beat was on the Ohio State-Northwestern game in 2013. The Buckeyes recovered a fumbled lateral for a TD on the last play of the game. Northwestern, a 6½-point underdog, lost 40-30.

My best and biggest bet was on Floyd Mayweather Jr. over Canelo Alvarez in 2013.

On my first day in Vegas, I watched spin after spin as red came up 21 times in a row on roulette.
